As the red carpet season officially begins at the 72nd Annual Golden Globes, diamonds were the jewel of choice for our favorite dazzling stars. And this year, they showed off the biggest and the best. Let’s take a look at the celebrities, designers, and amazing jewelry that wowed us this year. (See images below!)
Up and coming jewelry designer Irene Nuewirth made a splash as “Veep” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus amped up her beautiful white Narciso Rodriguez dress with white gold drop earrings set with rose cut diamonds and oblong moonstone and a One of a Kind 18kt white gold ring with a blue moonstone center. Irene Nuewirth has been leading trends in fashion jewelry for a few years now and we are ecstatic to see her unique pieces showing up on one of our most beloved actresses.
George Clooney’s stunning new wife, Amal, made her first Golden Globes appearance in a classic pair of Harry Winston “Deel” platinum and diamond drop earrings, weighing in at 29.62cts. The lawyer-activist-author has been all the talk since her marriage to heartthrob Mr. Clooney just four short months ago.
Best Supporting Actress nominee Jessica Chastain glittered in her bronze Artelier Versace gown and Piaget jewels. She wore the “Limelight Couture Preciéuse Earrings” and the “Limelight Cuff Catch” from the luxury designer. Jessica continues to amaze us with her timeless style. We can’t wait to see what beautiful pieces she comes out in on her next red carpet appearance.
Bulgari made two statement appearances with their signature “Serpenti” collection. The face of Bulgari and “St. Vincent” star, Naomi Watts, wore a magnificent 75cts diamond serpent necklace. If the necklace looks familiar, it’s because this is the actress’s second time to wear the piece. Not only did Naomi don the spectacular serpent at the 2014 American Music Awards, but fellow actress Kate Beckinsale showed up in it as well. The second statement appearance made by the designer at the Golden Globes was when comedienne and actress Kristen Wiig arrived sporting a stack of “Serpenti” diamond bracelets. Last year we saw an up rise of diamond studded animal-inspired jewelry. To the looks of it, these wild pieces are here to stay for 2015.
Tiffany & Company definitely took home the prize for most talked about after Reese Witherspoon emerged in a gorgeous metallic beaded Calvin Klein gown and $1.5 million worth of Tiffany & Co. sparklers. The “Wild” star looked absolutely breathtaking in a $600,000 pair of platinum and diamond earrings, $200,000 diamond bracelet set in white gold, and a 6.75ct diamond ring worth $695,000. Amy Adams, who took home Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her performance in the movie “Big Eyes”, was right on trend with platinum and diamond earrings, a five-row platinum and diamond bracelet, and an 18kt white gold wide diamond band and stacked diamond rings from the designer’s “Metro” collection. The trend-leading designer hit a homerun on the red carpet this year with these two leading ladies. Reese lit up our eyes and made our pocketbooks quiver with her magnificent collection while Amy stole our hearts in one of our favorite trends- stackable rings!
“Out of the Woods” star Anna Kendrick wowed us in a beautiful pair of ruby and diamond earring from Fred Leighton. Not only are these earrings remarkable, they reflect Pantone’s 2015 color of the year- Marasla! Look out for our thoughts on this deep wine color and our favorite Marsala-inspired pieces in the near future!
Anna’s co-star, Emily Blunt, looked as sweet as ever in a pair of diamond and Paraiba tourmaline earrings by Neil Lane. The celebrated designer’s pieces continued to amaze as they bejeweled some of our favorite stars. Singer Lorde was a showstopper in an amazing platinum bib necklace with 100cts worth of diamonds. The young singer may be closer to “royal” than she thinks if she keeps up with those numbers. Yellow gold made a comeback with the designer as well. Miss Golden Globes, daughter to Kelsey Grammer, and star of MTV’s “Awkward”, the beautiful Greer Grammer was striking in a pair of yellow gold and diamond chandelier earrings. Even though her diamonds were at a minimum this time, we have to mention the beautiful yellow gold and black onyx drop earrings that Jennifer Anniston wore perfectly with her sleek black Saint Laurent dress.
Last, but definitely not least, legendary designer Chopard was the pick of several stars. “12 Years a Slave” star Lupita Nyong’o was as beautiful as ever in a pair of amethyst, peridot and diamond Chopard earrings. Gina Rodriguez, Golden Globe winner and star of “Jane the Virgin”, looked incredible in a pair of 18kt white gold earrings containing 17.70cts of rose cut diamonds from the High Jewelry collection. The designer must have been somewhat of a good luck charm this year. Julianne Moore, who was also a winner for her role in “Still Alice,” wore a custom Givenchy Haute Couture dress by Riccardo Tisci with a pair of 14.7ct diamond and platinum cluster earrings and a 44ct Asscher cut diamond and platinum bracelet.
With so many magnificent pieces, we are unable to pick a favorite. However, we love the diamond dominance on the red carpet this year. We are sure that the classic stones will keep up and continue to adorn our beloved celebrities and are already anticipating what awe-inspiring designs these jewels will show up in next!
